Sound and fury over wine critics

Asking a wine question is like opening a box of choc-LITS, as Forrest Gump would say. You never know what you’re going to get.

I asked whether wine critics, with their wildly varying descriptions, have any reason to live. Here’s what I got:

Stephen Weinberg: “Wine is like SEX; you don't know very much about it when you start but the more you experience it the more you learn and hopefully the more you enjoy.”

Galen Struwe: “They [critics] educate, entertain, infuriate and often become our canary in the coal mine."
