Vic Mackey's not done cracking heads and grilling faces just yet. The Shield's executive producer Shawn Ryan, who had planned to end his renegade-cop drama with the 10 episodes that start airing on April 13, has changed his mind. He asked FX for another 13-episode season, a request the network granted in about the time it takes Mackey to fracture a gang-banger's skull. That next season will kick off in early 2008, and Ryan says this time it's really the end. Unless he changes his mind again.

I love The Shield and can't wait for the next season. Michael was an excellent choice to play Vic Mackey. I hope you reconsider ending this after this next season.
