So long, MadTV

Remember all those stories you've read over the years -- a few of them in the Miami Herald -- about how MadTV was the future of Saturday night television? How it was younger and livelier and more cutting-edge than Saturday Night Live? Well, as Emily Littella used to say on SNL, "Never mind." Fox has announced that this season will be the final one for MadTV; it will disappear in May after 14 seasons -- that is, 19 less than boring old Saturday Night Live.
