American Idol starts January 13

Idol_logo_2Paul Abdul's feuding with the producers notwithstanding, American Idol is coming back Jan. 13. Fox says the season will kick off with back-to-back two-hour episodes. Paula, Simon and Randy will continue to abuse and/or horrify auditioning singers for another month until the audience starts voting on Feb. 11. We don't get down to the 12 finalists until March 10, by which time nobody but poor, crazy Howard Cohen will be watching. (We chain him to his chair.)
