Broadcast TV is still the ratings king

Cable TV may be steadily whittling away at the overall audience -- more than half of TV viewing is done Antennalucy on cable now -- but broadcast networks still provide all the shows with big audiences. And I do mean all. The Television Bureau of Advertising says that of the 200 most-watched programs during the 2008-2009 season, 197 were on broadcast TV. Highest ranked cable show: ESPN's Monday-night NFL telecasts, which ranked No. 80. The highest-ranked scripted show on cable is USA's Miami-made action comedy Burn Notice, No. 304. Hooray for us!
