Haiti story brings in the cable-news viewers

The horrifying images of a broken and battered Haiti have drawn viewers to cable news like a magnet. CNN Haiti ratings on Wednesday and Thursday were up 93 percent over the same two days a year ago, Fox News jumped 33 percent and MS-NBC 27 percent. Even with CNN's enormous increase, however, Fox News stayed at the top of the ratings heap.

Thursday:

Fox News: 1.52 million average viewers)

CNN: 913,000

MSNBC: 434,000 

HLN: 335,000

Wednesday:  

Fox News: 1.5 million

CNN: 942,000  

MSNBC: 449,000

HLN: 320,000
