DENVER -- It was a bad day all around for Cameron Maybin.
First, Maybin made a base running blunder in the ninth inning when he was tagged out in a rundown between second and third after being sent in to pinch run.
Moments later, after the Marlins returned to the clubhouse following their 3-2 loss to the Rockies, Maybin was notified of his demotion to Triple A New Orleans.
The transaction did not come as a major surprise. Maybin was hitting just .202 and lost his starting job when the Marlins brought up Chris Coghlan and turned him into an outfielder.
Meanwhile, sources said the Marlins are calling up left-handed pitcher John Koronka from Triple A New Orleans. He'll join the club in Milwaukee when it opens a 3-game series against the Brewers on Tuesday.
The Marlins haven't confirmed anything, but it's expected that Koronka will start Tuesday's game.
