Mike Hill said Sunday the Marlins still had some tinkering to do with their bullpen even after trading a draft pick to the Pirates for Bryan Morris.
Well, it looks like the second part of that process involves giving 35-year old former closer Kevin Gregg another shot in a Marlins uniform.
According to Fox's Ken Rosenthal, the Marlins have agreed to a deal with Gregg pending a physical. Rosenthal reported Gregg will begin in the minors and then get called up by the Marlins in eight or nine days.
Gregg went 7-13 with a 3.48 ERA and 61 saves as the Marlins' closer during the 2007 and 2008 seasons. He spent last year with the Cubs going 2-6 with a 3.48 ERA and 33 saves. He was a free agent available through spring training.
