ATLANTA -- While the Marlins are a couple of weeks away from releasing their 2016 schedule, it appears they will be returning to Puerto Rico for a two-game series there next summer, according to sources. If so, it will mark their first visit to the island commonwealth since 2010 when they faced the Mets there.
The Marlins also played in Puerto Rico in 2003 against the Montreal Expos.
Details for next season's Puerto Rico series, such as dates and opponent, are unknown at this point.
The Marlins and their National League East brethren will be paired against the American League Central in interleague play next season.
