About Fish Bytes

Clark Spencer saw his first major-league game in 1965 from the sun deck at old Crosley Field in Cincinnati, an afternoon twin bill against the Cubs in which Reds pitcher Sammy Ellis started and lost the first game but emerged from the bullpen to win the second in relief. Spencer has been covering the Marlins for The Miami Herald since 1999. When he's assigned to the team on the road, he usually spends his free mornings searching used bookstores to add to his collection of National Book Award winners for fiction.

Andre C. Fernandez has covered sports for the Miami Herald for the past 11 years. He was born and raised in Miami and is a graduate of Champagnat Catholic School, Miami-Dade College and the University of Miami.

Manny Navarro started working for The Herald as an editorial assistant in 1995. A graduate of Braddock High (Class of 1996), he studied print journalism at Florida International University. Manny was the Herald's Miami-Dade County high school beat writer from 2002-2006. He now helps cover Hurricanes football and basketball and plays an integral role in gathering multimedia content for the Herald's website.
