Orlando Timber Creek wide receiver Javonte Seabury, who had previously verbally committed to Florida State, backed off that Saturday and Tweeted Sunday night that he's committed now to FIU for 2014.
Seabury's ranked at four stars by 24/7Sports.com and the site's composite rating of several recruting sites. Rivals.com, Scout.com and ESPN each rank him at three stars. The Orlando Sentinel ranks him as No. 22 of their Super 60.
Seabury, 5-9, 165, missed half his junior season with an Achilles injury, but he was healed enough to make the Class 4A state final in the 100 meters. His 4.4 40-yard speed is what got Florida State, the University of Miami, anybody who likes swift pass catchers interested.
Also, whatever school Seabury attends, if he's happy there, probably gets pole position to land Seabury's brother, Class of 2015 running back Jacques Patrick. Patrick's a 6-2, 225-pounder being chased by the solid South and rated at four stars by all the aforementioned recruiting sites.
