Yay! I was so excited when I got contacted by Mariel Haenn's peeps. Haenn is a celebrity stylist who is most noted for creating Rihanna's glam rock style. I'm a big Rih Rih fan. Haenn's styling skills
transformed Rihanna from a jeans-and-sneakers teen to a sexy-and-edgy fashionista.
I can't make it to fashion week in New York, but interviewing Haenn was a way for me to feel like I was in Bryant Park.
Anyhow, Haenn has teamed up with MasterCard and Saks Fifth Avenue's Fall "Want It" campaign. She's making moves and building her brand.
Her fashion advice for Frugalistas: "Add your own personal touch to whatever you're wearing," Haenn says.
Haenn also advises people not to overhaul their entire look immediately. She helped build Rihanna's style image over time.
"You don't want to get caught up in too many trends," Haenn says. "Take some time to get comfortable with trying new things."
Sounds like a Frugalista to me, no?
Here are Haenn's "statement looks" for the fall:
*Lacquered lip: Wearing bold red lips is easy to wear. It doesn't matter what you are wearing.
*Leggings: From sequins, to leather to plain black, leggings are a must.
*Mix metal necklaces: All types of stores with different price points offer them.
*Cozy knit: You can wear a knit during cool fall nights, during fireside chats or walking downtown.

Nice tips. But I wouldn't invest too much $ in sequins or leather leggings.
