American Family Association: McDonald's will put full resources behind gay agenda

Action Alert from Donald E. Wildmon, founder and chairman of American Family Association:

testaa

McDonald's has signed on to a nationwide effort to promote 'gay' and 'lesbian' business ventures.

Dear ,

According to McDonald’s CEO Jim Skinner, McDonald’s will aggressively promote the homosexual agenda. In remarks on McDonald's Web site concerning the company becoming a member of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), Skinner wrote: "Being a socially responsible organization is a fundamental part of who we are. We have an obligation to use our size and resources to make a difference in the world … and we do."

The company gave an undisclosed amount of money to the NGLCC in return for being recognized as a major promoter of the homosexual agenda. In return, NGLCC placed Richard Ellis, vice president of communications of McDonald’s USA, on the NGLCC Board of Directors.

Ellis was quoted as saying: "I'm thrilled to join the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce team and ready to get to work. I share the NGLCC's passion for business growth and development within the LGBT community, and I look forward to playing a role in moving these important initiatives forward."

McDonald's refused to comment to World Net Daily on the placement of its executive on the board of the "gay" advocacy organization but did send an e-mail confirming the corporation's support for the agenda of the homosexual business lobby.

"McDonald's is indeed a Corporate Partner and Organizational Ally of NGLCC. Our vice president of U.S. communications, Richard Ellis, was recently elected to its board of directors," said Heidi M. Barker, senior director of media relations for McDonald’s. NGLCC describes itself as promoting the LGBT community first and always, including same sex marriage.

NGLCC gives credit to sponsors such as McDonald's for its financial and other support that helps in its work. "Through the commitment of our corporate partners, the NGLCC has been able to advance the ideas and causes of the LGBT business community," the Chamber said.

Sincerely,

Donald E. Wildmon,
Founder and Chairman
American Family Association

This is unbelieveable to me. Why would you support these perverted and ungodly life styles?

When I see your Golden Arches in the future I will remember to turn away ---rather than to turn in as I have in the past. I have four children and nine grandchildren and I will make others aware of what you are doing unless you choose to reverse your decision. If so, please notify me. I pray you will seriously reconsider this decision which could lead to your demise should God deal with you as he delt with Sodham and Gomorrah. God is not dead and GOD WILL NOT BE MOCKED!

Vonda Fletcher -

I will no longer support McDonalds. Because of this they are really putting thier business in jeopardy. When you surport things like this you really are messing up our children for the future. If you teach a child that its all right to be gay and go against the laws of nature. you are making cereal killers child molesters thiefs liers untrustworthy people. Believe it or not it affects our enviroment just like littering.

Vonda and Tweilda need to educate themselves before they speak with such hate in a public forum.
Gay people aren't the problem, it is people like you, vonda and "tewilda"- people who judge others and cast stones with such vitriolic hate. (I apologize for using the big words you two, look them up).
Go get an education and stop spreading your crude, archaic and trashy mythology. It's pathetic.

So far none of these comments are really saying anything educated. All I see is hatred, which only makes all of you look uneducated. I am a Black Conservative Christian and I defiantly don't agree with the Homosexual lifestyle but I still love the people. Which in case you didn’t know is God’s feeling on the subject also. I wish we could all be civilized and agree to disagree. I also think it is wrong for the NGLCC to try to force us to believe it is okay to be gay. They don't like it when Christian's try to force their beliefs on them. In the end, I will not be taking my children to McDonald's anymore now that I see how the money I spend there is being utilized. And I will be spreading the word of the unity between the NGLCC and McDonald’s. This is disheartening!

I fully support McDonald's in doing the right thing. Hatred against gays and lesbians is fully comparable to the exclusion from full equality of other groups in the past (blacks, jews, asians, all minorities, women) from being able to exercise their rights as full free citizens. No one chooses to be gay - there is far too much hate against gays for anyone to willingly want to subject themselves to it. Children as early as pre-teens are gay, and are just born different. I am an Asian (Indian)American mother, and my youngest son (who is 9) is very effeminate and likes to play with dolls. Not that all gay children are like this, but I am fully aware that my son is highly likely to grow up to be gay even though he has not developed any sexual orientation anyway. Increasing amounts of research shows that homosexuality is just as natural in the animal world as it is in the human world and there is nothing inherently wrong in two consenting adults of the same-sex who choose to to love one another. Keep religion out of the issue of rights - are you going to follow the Koran and say the constitution doesn't apply to women because they are not full human beings per Islam? In a constitutional democracy, all citizens, especially the weakest minorities need to be protected. I commend McDonald's for promoting equality for all. One day I want my son to grow up in an American where he will not be hated for the color of his skin or his sexual orientation and I and other parents of gays and lesbians will fight for that day.

28 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Looks like my family and I will me going to Wendy's from now on.

Looks like my family and I will me going to Wendy's from now on.

Think how nice McDonalds is going to be now.

I am still not sold on this whole, “I was born a Homosexual”. If that is the case then I should be a homosexual also. I use to play with dolls and was called queer as a child. I also use to struggle with thoughts of being attracted to guys that were my friends. But while I was in high school I came to the realization that my attraction was unnatural and would keep me from experiencing life with all the joy God had to offer me. Tomorrow is my 9 year anniversary with my wife and we have 3 beautiful children and I would not exchange any of the experiences I have had with them for anything in this world.

Whether you believe in Creation or Evolution, I personally believe I was created; Evolution has too many key issues scientist can’t explain if you really study it. We can agree that Humans have a higher level of intelligence than the rest of the animals of this world. Though animals may give themselves over to homosexual acts doesn't mean we have to also. Plus, what are you really saying when you make a comparison like that. If one guy likes a girl someone else is dating should he challenge the other guy to a fight? Animals do that also, should we.

I just can't understand how such blatant discrimination and hatemongering still exists. We've seen throughout history where the Bible has been used to defend what is today seen as universally indefensible. This is no different.

The founding document of our nation states that all men are created equal, and it makes no provision that you are excluded from respecting that principle if your religious beliefs are in conflict with it. Your beliefs are your own and you have a right to them, but all people still have the right to equal treatment under the law and under the United States constitution.

I don't understand something, what rights are homosexuals not given by law? There have already been laws instituted allowing you to live the way you want. As a matter of fact, some of the laws that have been created to protect homosexuals actually hinder the religious rights of Christians.

LOL. Post a story like this and the Bible thumping, rightwing nutcases come out of the woodwork. I'm lovin' it!

So David would you like to answer my question or are you just going to make comments that show how immature you are by calling people names?

I posed a direct question, "...what rights are homosexuals not given by law?” as a "rightwing nutcase" because I am seeking an understanding of your side of the story. It is my understanding that is why we are able to post comments here. If it is just so we can call each other names there really is no hope for any of us to come to an understanding on this issue and we may as well discontinue calling the US a civilization and all blow each other to Hell. I don't want that or else I would not be asking the question. I am listening with open ears and heart to try to understand your side of the story. Are you doing the same for me? You know listening is part of what it takes to have a civilized discussion. And comments like yours and the "rightwing nutcases" that try to throw the bible at people not wanting to hear it are what have caused us to be divided as a nation. (Notice the cut to the people on my own beliefs)

Please respond, but only if you have something thought provoking to say.

I have know problem with gays and lesbians. What I don't like is the agenda these organizations have. They are always trying to force the general public to accept them. Now by McDonalds donating money to their orginizations it just fuels them to be more in my face. Thus, I have the right not eat at McDonalds and donate to a cause I am completely against.

To More Educated

I for one do appreciate your quest to gain better understanding of the rights denied gay and lesbian citizens, and they are indeed numerous. And listed below are just the rights conveyed by marriage. They don't even touch on protection for jobs and housing, which is a very real issue. Gay people do in fact still lose jobs and get evicted simply because of their sexual orientation. And if you want to argue that it's a "special right" because there is no straight equivalent, it's because there doesn't have to be. Straight people are not confronted with such situations.

Here's a good place to start. It is the report from the federal General Accounting Office detailing a total of 1138 rights identified as being contingent upon marital status. As it is a pretty exhaustive list, I won't try to add to it.

Tedd

What is this 'agenda' I keep hearing so much about? Wanting to be accepted for who you are certainly does 'sound' deviant. Who would want something like that?

Remember...when you discriminate against the intolerant, you know who suffers? The intolerant.
Ahhhh Stephen Colbert nailed you religious loonies better than anyone. Just watch the video > http://www.truthdig.com/avbooth/item/20070508_colbert_on_dobsons_intolerance/

McDonald's new jingle: "If you're Queer, please eat here, it's your kinda place!"

I read about this yesterday so this afternoon my son and I went to McD's for lunch for the first time in ten Years. Their food might not be that great but I am all to happy to patronize a business that supports a repressed minority. It was nice to sit there knowing that there were no religious bigots there because they are too busy boycotting hardworking underpaid kids.

I have read in some conservative forums on this subject that McD's has "signed up to the Gay Agenda" and that they are out to "promote homosexuality". It's just more lies from the right but most of you are buying it. The NGLCC is in business to promote business not sex. They represent 1.4 million LGBT owned and friendly companies and their purpose is to help them develop supplier connections, obtain loans and establish distribution channels. Is this any different than the CC in your town? Check out their website. Do you see anything there about sex, sexuality or the 'Gay Agenda'?

I wonder if there was ever a time in our history that people like Wildmon boycotted businesses that belonged the National Black Chamber of Commerce? None of you here would think that would be right, now would you?

How can you hate a group of people that you know nothing about?

@ Thomas

You said, "I am still not sold on this whole, 'I was born a Homosexual'”. Check with the organizations listed below. They say that homosexuality is NOT a choice and that people ARE born gay or straight. I'm sure they have the peer-reviewed research to prove it too.

American Psychiatric Association
American Psychological Association
American Medical Association
American Academy of Pediatrics

Or just ask a gay person.

Regardless of how strong your view point is, at the end of the day we ALL will stand before God. He created us, and we're all perfect in his sight. Therefore, he didn't make a mistake when He gave men a penis and women a vagina. It's not by coincidence that the parts fit. Please don't take this the wrong way, God loves you but He will only tolerate sin for so long. Change your hearts, change while you have an opportunity. At judgment, it'll be TOO LATE. I pray God's mercy for you. :)

You pathetic shriveled christian fundamentalist idiots. You should receive disability payments from the government. I know people with severe brain injuries and downs syndrome who are sharper than you are. I pitu you for the terrified lies that your parents injected into your pliable little minds. It is not your fault that that happened but it is your fault that you never rebeled and made your own decisions. It's trickle down ignorance. Your God is as real as the easter bunny. Mine is merciful and cares not where you stick your tallywhacker. I am awestruck by the inability of so many people to rise above the clouds and see that love is universal. You anti-gays whack it to gay porn anyway. Me thinks thou dost protest too stongly, incest indulgers.
Ted Haggert. HEALTHY MAN except for his lies and self-denial. Snap out of it bozos. It has nothing to do with you. Do they tell you how not to live? Why should you tell them? Oh. You erased all God's emails where he said to gay bash?

Sorry about my inability to respond for the past few days. I was taking Victim Response Training and didn’t have computer access for 2 days and then Sunday I noticed a spider bite on my leg, which the doctors are now thinking was a Brown Recluse.

Anyway, first I would like to make a response to JBN, only because he was the last comment I read with hatred in his words.

You talk about love, but I hear no love in your heart for me being a "Christian Fundamentalist" and you all are saying that we are intolerant. Here is the thing. I don't care what you do amongst yourselves. I can tolerate what ever it is that you want to do amongst your friends. My only issue is when what you do impacts my life in a negative way. And in the end though we may have our differences, I will still love you. And that love keeps me from pointing the finger at you and calling your sin out. I sin too. All the time, but I am actively seeking to sin less and that is happening as I grow in Christ. Just like the fact that I use to suffer the sin of Homosexual thoughts/actions, but no more. I am different today through the love of Christ. Not because I am or was weak, but because I recognized a better way to live. The Christian Life has given me a richer life than I could have ever imagined possible prior to my conversion; I didn’t grown up in the most Christian home. And that is why I don't agree with people who say they are born this way and can't stop, I don't agree with that assumption. That is not what has been true in my life!

In the end, JBN all I hear from you is hatred and that is what has put up a wall between us. Your hatred can and will fuel a war.

Thank you for your response Tedd, I can see your concerns, but from a Christian perspective the cost for us may be too high. It would be different if the Christians of this world actually teach their children a correct perspective of love of fellow man, but that is not happening. And in the end rights are being stripped away from both sides, please don’t forget that, already so I recognize that compromises will have to be made and whether you see it or not they are.

i notice that 'actually educated' and 'more educated chose not to be identified. it's ok...come on out!
the truth is (more educated) the Bible states that homosexuals, among many others, will have no part in the kingdom of God, and that we are to have no fellow-ship with those who are proud in their sin.

Jesus will have the last say in the end. End of story! Gays will not make it. sorry.

Jesus will have the last say in the end. End of story! Gays will not make it. sorry.

anju...how dare you compare homosexuality with being black or jewish.
homosexuality is a choice-unlike being born black, or jewish.
there are countless people who have come out of this lifestyle, but it's just easier to justify foul behavior...especially if you can get one or two quack, liberal doctors to give you an excuse.
it's a cop-out. it's a choice made out of emotional truama. it can be healed...but it's a hard road, and no one likes hard work anymore-now that there's a good 'excuse' for it.
you want to talk about deviance...look in the seattle paper(last fall), and read about the city councilman who was pulverized when he and his homosexual friends rigged up a harness that would allow him to be serviced by a horse! this lifestyle is destructive, and devastating...it is twisting minds. and it is destroying families.
the fight for rights of women, and colored people is 1000 times more real. there is NO comparing the two. shame on you.

Woot, looks like I'll be eating at Mc Donald's a whole lot more often now!

I'm a lesbian (and a Christian, if I may just pop this in there), I didn't choose that "ungodly lifestyle" (please note the sarcasm), but I sure do choose to support a company which promotes equal rights for gays & lesbians!

Now, I just need to find a gym which has joined the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce so I can burn off all the extra calories from my Makkie Dee diet!

I'm loooooovin' it! :D

Tina j, watch what you're saying. You are bigoted and the stuff you say is completely untrue, I can testify. I wish you could have a peek into my life so you would realize how hurtful your words are. You would cry, too.

//As a matter of fact, some of the laws that have been created to protect homosexuals actually hinder the religious rights of Christians.

Posted by: More Educated//

The religious rights of Christians to spread false information and hate towards THEIR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST?! Hahahaha. Good one. But I'm not buyin' it.

No more McDonald's for me.
