Many thousands came to celebrate at the first Miami Beach Gay Pride parade and festival. This is the last gallery, including shots of parade grand marshals Patti LaBelle and Richie Rich. (Click pictures to enlarge.)

It was an incredible experience participating in Miami Beach Pride. The many different-faces and facets of what Being Gay/Lesbian/Transgender or Straight is and the message that Mayor Bower and the community loudly and PROUDly proclaimed-that we will accept, we will welcome and embrace diversity in this community , it is a refreshing, exhilirating and much welcomed change.
I hope it inspires and encourages all to vote, to participate, to volunteer and together we can and will make Miami Beach the number one destination for tourists and the place that everyone dreams of calling HOME. Nellie Barrios

It's a nice thing to see finally happen, although it is kind of like celebrating the 4th of July or any other holiday on another date. Remeber why we celebrate in June? STONEWALL.....
