Author Johnny Diaz reads from his new novel, ‘Beantown Cubans,’ at Books & Books in South Beach

Former Miami Herald reporter Johnny Diaz, now a business writer at The Boston Globe, has just published his third novel, Beantown Cubans, a follow-up to his earlier books, Boston Boys Club and Miami Manhunt.

Accompanied by his parents, Diaz read from his new book and answered questions Thursday night at Books & Books off Lincoln Road in South Beach. He’ll appear 2 p.m. Saturday at the Stonewall Library & Archives in Fort Lauderdale.
