Democratic gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink announced Sunday at the 2009 Equality Florida Broward Gala that she supports allowing gays and lesbians to adopt if it’s in the children’s “best interest.’’
Florida is the only state with an outright ban on gays and lesbians being allowed to adopt.
Sink, above with Equality Florida Executive Director Nadine Smith, spoke Sunday before an enthusiastic crowd of about 300 Equality Florida supporters at the Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale.
Equality Florida raised $175,000 at the event.

This isn't exactly true, Steve... I was there, and she did not specifically say that she supports repealing the adoption ban... It may have been implied, but not stated.

Jarrett, thanks. I clarified the posting and urge readers to see Beth Reinhard's story for details.
