Hundreds of women and men turned out Sunday night for Aqua Affair at Villa 221 in Miami, a benefit to raise money for scholarships presented annually by Aqua Foundation For Women.
Above, Aqua Foundation Executive Director Robin Schwartz announces new scholarships established by Wells Fargo and Aqua Foundation chair Jennifer Kriz (The Kriz Business Scholarship).
"We just announced the recipients of our annual grants program," Schwartz said.
- Pride Center Tri-County LBT Women's Health Directory, $15,000
- Safe Schools, A special OUTlet/RelationSHIFTS conference, $5,000
- University of Miami Study of Health Risks of Transgender Women in South Florida, $4,000
- PFLAG Project Outreach, $2,000
Previously, Aqua Foundation gave:
- Safe Schools, $5,000
- MGLFF, $4,000
- Pridelines, $5,000
"We awarded 11 scholarships this year. Each scholar is matched with a mentor."
Aqua Foundation also announced the formation of a new men's group.
"Aqua Men is a group who will support the work we do by becoming members and attending our events and have an event especially for the men in our community," Schwartz said. "They will also have a special project in 2012 where they will fund raise for an issue that fits our mission."

Wow, that's amazing all those wonderful people came together to give people scholarships! They will be in good use and a higher education for everyone is best!
