Lady Gaga, in partnership with the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, The California Endowment and the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, has announced the 2012 launch of the Born This Way Foundation.

"I'm proud to announce: My mommy + I have created "The Born This Way Foundation" A place for Bravery, Love, Acceptance," Gaga tweeted on Wednesday.

"Empowering Youth - Inspiring Bravery," reads the splash page on the Born This Way Foundation website.

After registering with the foundation, you'll get this message, which can be forwarded to friends and allies:

Will you help me create a brave new world?

I just joined the Born This Way Foundation, an organization founded by Lady Gaga to provide our youth with the tools and support they need to better realize their potential and to inspire a loving and accepting society.

I’d like you to help support the next generation by joining this great new organization:

The Born This Way Foundation’s goal is simple, to foster a world where youth are empowered, humanity is embraced, and individuality is encouraged.

This global effort starts with today’s youth. By empowering and inspiring our young people to promote bravery, tolerance, and acceptance, we can change the way people view those who are different from them.
But we cannot do this alone. The Born This Way Foundation is a vehicle for a people-driven movement for change. That’s why I’m asking you to become a part of the Foundation today.

Thanks.
