Miami artist Rubem Robierb to display 'Bullet-fly Effect' series Aug. 12 at SLS Hotel in South Beach

Miami-New York artist Rubem Robierb will exhibit his work 6 to 10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at SLS Hotel, 1701 Collins Ave.

Featured at the public exhibit: Robierb's Bullet-fly Effect series.

"The Bullet-fly Effect Series offers a sharp analysis of changes to our planet … by nature or by conflict. I combine the butterfly and the bullet, in a dramatic metaphor for the swift, sometimes gentle, sometimes tragic, transformations of our world. Two diametrically opposed values alter the earth," the artist says.

Brazilian-born Robierb, who last December married Good Morning America weather anchor Sam Champion, has commuted between Miami and New York for the past five years.

Robierb's favorite thing to do when he's not working: "Long walks on the beach with my husband. Watching the sunset and appreciate the so-inspiring and beautiful city we choose."
