Healthcare marketplace enrollment continues for some in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties

While March 31 marked the end of initial enrollment for many Floridians under the Affordable Care Act, enrollment continues for some. 
 
The Epilepsy Foundation of Florida (EFOF), a state licensed and federally certified navigator, continues to hold open office hours in Miami-Dade and Broward for special enrollment cases and to answer questions consumers may have concerning their health coverage.  
 
Some of the special enrollment cases include being recently married, having or adopting a child, losing one's health insurance coverage due to losing a job or moving, being released from prison, and others. If one of these situations applies to you, the government allows 60 days to obtain coverage through the healthcare marketplace.  

Ts4Some consumers can enroll all year round, such as small business owners and those eligible for Medicaid.

EFOF navigators are helping these consumers enroll at the following locations this week:

  • Tuesday, April 29: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Sant La Community Center, 500 Biscayne Boulevard, Suite 110, Miami

  • Tuesday, April 29: 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Epilepsy Foundation Miami Office, 1200 NW 78th Avenue, Doral

  • Tuesday, April 29: 3:00 PM to 8:30 PM, Florida Medical Center, 5000 West Oakland Park Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale

  • Wednesday, April 30: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Epilepsy Foundation Broward Office, 512 NE 3rd Avenue, Third Floor, Fort Lauderdale

  • Wednesday, April 30: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Poverello Center, 2056 North Dixie Highway, Wilton Manors

  • Wednesday, April 30: 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Epilepsy Foundation Miami Office, 1200 NW 78th Avenue, Doral

  • Wednesday, April 30: 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Miami Dade College, Homestead Campus, 500 College Terrace, Homestead

The events are free, open to the public, and made possible through a grant by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Floridians can also call the intake department to schedule an appointment, toll-free at 1-877-553-7453.
