Having the opportunity to watch many of the athletes in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties when they begin playing football at the youth football level, the Miami Herald will shine the spotlight on many athletes during the spring and summer.

With the chance to see the athletes away from the football field as well, we can bring you up close and personal with some of the top prospects in the nation - right here in our own backyard.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: After starting his career in Orlando, this impressive athlete made his way down to South Florida to give himself a better opportunity to succeed in the classroom and on the football field at a school that has one of the best graduation/placement rates in the state.

A unique talent who can play fullback, linebacker and on the defensive line, where he will probably end up at the next level.

His quickness, work ethic and strength have made him an athlete that colleges have been keeping an eye on.

You have to root for someone who has tried to make his life better!
