Having the opportunity to watch many of the athletes in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties when they begin playing football at the youth football level, the Miami Herald will continue to shine the spotlight on many athletes during the pre-spring, spring and summer.
With the chance to see the athletes away from the football field as well, we can bring you up close and personal with some of the top prospects in the nation - right here in our own backyard.
Don't forget that the exposure continues on FACEBOOK (Herald Recruiting) and via Twitter @ larryblustein.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: One of the many football prospects who have found a way to leap onto the radar screen in the off season, this is a player that many have been keeping their eye on.
This physical defensive line prospect comes to the Rockets from Miami Archbishop Carroll, where he was one of those under the radar players last season. He has been very impressive at combines and other events that test line performers.
Last season, many regarded him as one of those "can't miss" prospects, and so far in the off season and in the spring, competing against some of the top talent in South Florida, he has made a lasting impressions.
For a team that lost heavily on the defensive line and along the front 7, this is certainly a player who has the chance to give this team a prospect who has everything you are looking for. College coaches we have spoken to where very impressed at what this young man did this spring to push his name into the recruiting mix.
