The renowed three-time Oscar-winning shooter of classics such as "Last Tango in Paris," "The Conformist," "Apocalypse Now" (pictured here), "Reds," "The Last Emperor" and many others will make his first public appearance in Miami this weekend. Known as one of the world’s best photographers at conquering natural light, the Italian artist will host a free two-hour seminar on his craft at the Bill Cosford Cinema on the University of Miami campus at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Later that day, he will attend the grand opening of the “Writing with Light: The Civilta Romano Collection” exhibition, which will explore his groundbreaking use of double exposure in films and photographs, from 6-10 p.m. at the Coconut Grove Arts Festival Gallery at the Mayfair in the Grove, 3390 Mary St., Coconut Grove.
