OK, I'll eat crow. I was wrong about practically everything regarding Best Of The Best 2010, the premier reggae (and hip-hop) event of Memorial Day weekend, when Miami becomes a haven for such events.
The issue of Gucci Mane being locked up? The Atlanta-based rapper will be out of Fulton County jail just in time for the festival, which should be his first post-prison performance.
The weak lineup? That's been remedied as well.
On the hip-hop side of things, Diddy is now billed as the headliner and host, and his set promises the ever mysterious "and friends" addendum.
Also added: Miami's most famous posse cut creator, DJ Khaled (also with "friends"), Rick Ross, who is set to release his fourth album, Teflon Don, in the summer, and Nicki Minaj of Lil Wayne's Young Money collective.
Reggae-wise, the lineup has been bolstered by T.O.K., Barrington Levy and Capleton.
Tickets for Best Of The Best are now $44 before May 1 (or $100 for VIP), and can be bought at Ticketmaster. The event takes place at Bicentennial Park on May 30.
Well hello there. My name is Crow. You got a purdy mouth.
