Marv Nodel has been named partner resident in Koch Parafinczuk & Wolf’s Fort Lauderdale office.
Before, he was at Shendell & Pollock, P.S., in Boca Raton. He has also been in-house counsel to Travelers Insurance Company, was a solo practitioner for nine years, and also has worked at numerous law firms throughout Florida.
Other experience: He is a member and past chairman of the Broward County Florida Bar Grievance Committee and a past member of the Miami-Dade County Florida Bar Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. He is a Florida Supreme Court certified mediator. He was a captain in the Army JAG Corps, and also was a civilian attorney with the U.S. Army Claims Service, defending medical malpractice claims.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in English literature from Brooklyn College; J.D. from the University of Miami.
Best advice he ever received: Speak simply. Previous to attending law school, the words “before” and “after” worked fine and didn’t sound pretentious. They didn’t need to become “prior” and “subsequent.”
