Edward Allen named vice president of beverage operations at Carnival Cruise Lines

Edward AllenEdward Allen has been named vice president, beverage operations for Miami-based Carnival Cruise Lines. He will oversee the operation of all bars, lounges and nightclubs across Carnival’s 23-ship fleet, including overall management, training, staffing and beverage menu development. He will start Nov. 14. Before joining Carnival, he was director of beverage operations for the Tao Management Group, which operates several restaurants and nightclubs in Las Vegas. He also spent four years as beverage director/sommelier at the Compass Restaurant in New York. He also served in a similar capacity with the Starr Restaurant Group in New York.

Foreign affairs think tank taps local talent

Movers - Brian Siegal Brian Siegal has been appointed to the Council on Foreign Relations, an independent think tank. He is executive director of the Greater Miami and Broward Chapter of the American Jewish Committee.

Honorary Consulate General for the Republic of Macedonia

Movers_dana_klein Dana Klein, owner of DKMC, a public relations firm, has been named as the new Honorary Consulate General for the Republic of Macedonia. Formerly a part of Yugoslavia, the country is known today as one of the up and coming hot spots in Eastern Europe. Primed as the new business mecca in Europe, Macedonia is actively recruiting business to the area with tax breaks and incentives, low business costs, and a highly educated, inexpensive labor force.
