$1.2 billion in cuts may be on the way

Florida's sputtering economy is forcing lawmakers into special session to cut spending. While legislators await word on the final amount, from the Aug. 1 revenue estimating forecast, analysts are predicting schools and social services won't be spared the budget ax. More here.
