Ros-Lehtinen: I'm no rubber stamp

Taking a preemptive stance, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen shot out a pair of press releases that aim to put distance between herself and President Bush.

The press releases detail domestic and foreign policy initiatives where the Miami Republican - who is facing a re-election challenge "has broken with the current administration.''

Though she's been a staunch supporter of the war in Iraq, she has not shied away from taking on the Bush administration on occasion. The press releases come as Democrats release a new national poll of 45 Republican-held congressional seats that show Bush's popularity ratings tanking. Her opponent, Annette Taddeo, though, says the congresswoman votes with Bush 85 percent of the time.
