Klein calls for hearings on sex, drugs and oil report

Rep. Ron Klein is calling for immediate hearings into allegations that federal officials who run an oil royalties programs had sex with and accepted gifts from oil company reps.

Klein called the reports "extremely alarming" and said they "depict a federal agency that has run amok, denigrating the high standards of public service in favor of an ethical free-for-all.

"Aside from allegations of sexual misconduct and cocaine abuse, which are startling in their own right, I find it extremely alarming that the federal agency entrusted with the management of our nation's oil, natural gas and other mineral resources on the Outer Continental Shelf may have acted against this country's best interests in favor of their own personal gain," he wrote in a letter to two committee chairs.
