Swiftboat Sarah says 'it may get kinda rough'

At the end of yesterday's 21-minute speech in southwest Florida trashing Democrat Barack Obama as a terrorist-friendly, troops-snubbing tax-and-spender, Republican Sarah Palin added, "You know, from now until Election Day, hang onto your hats, because it may get kinda rough here in terms of campaigns have to step up and kinda take the gloves off and start telling the truth.''

Her tough talk was in keeping with a tradition in which the vice presidential candidate serves as an campaign's attack dog, while the nominee tries to be all high-minded and focused on the issues. Palin does it all with a smile and a wink, to the delight of her audiences.
