Mel Martinez: Reports of my exit are premature

Mel Martinez is refuting reports that he's planning an early exit from the Senate.

Roll Call says he's "contemplating resigning from his seat before his term is up next year," but Martinez's office says no way.

"What he has said stands, that he looks forward to serving out the rest of his term,” Martinez spokesman Ken Lundberg told the newspaper.

"It looks like the Tallahassee rumor mill has made its way to Capitol Hill," Lundberg told Naked Politics.

The paper also says that Gov. Charlie Crist is "giving serious consideration to a Senate bid." See earlier posts for his *answers* to questions about a potential run.
