UM grad gets Obama admin appointment

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus is applauding the nomination of Ines Triay as assistant secretary for environmental management at the Department of Energy.

The caucus says Triay has 24 years of experience at the department, as well as 14 years at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico. She was born in Cuba, raised in Puerto Rico, and received her Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Miami.
