Pelosi coming to South Florida

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is slated to headline a Sunday fundraiser for a political action committee headed by U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Weston. The $1,000-per-person shindig is at the home of Lennar president Stuart Miller.

In the 2008 election, Democrats Win Seats PAC (get it, it's the congresswoman's initials) doled out more than $544,000 to a slew of House candidates, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

On Monday, Pelosi and Wasserman Schultz will tout President Barack Obama's spending plan at the Broward Community & Family Health Centers in Hollywood. The center received $1.5 million in stimulus funds, allowing it to hire 13 more employees.

Coming just days after the anti-government "tea parties'' across South Florida and the country, Pelosi's will seek to show the administration's economic plan in a more positive light.
