Jeb Bush likes Thrasher for GOP, too

In case there was any doubt that John Thrasher becoming chairman of the Republican Party of Florida was not a done deal, along comes kind words from former Gov. Jeb Bush, an icon among many GOP activists. You'll recall Bush went to bat for Thrasher in his 2008 campaign to get elected to the Florida Senate.

Bush says: There could be no better choice than Senator John Thrasher to lead Republican candidates to victory in 2010.  He understands and appreciates every aspect of an effective political organization -- including the importance of our grassroots supporters, coalition building, voter registration and fundraising efforts.  Based on his commitment to conservative principles and his demonstrated leadership abilities, John Thrasher is the best equipped leader to unite our members around our common goals and values. To ensure we keep control of the Governor’s Mansion and the Florida Legislature, I urge the State Executive Committee to support John Thrasher for Chairman.

Side note: Interesting that McCollum's campaign is putting out all of the statements of support for Thrasher. Obviously would be awkward for RPOF to do it, and it allows McCollum to look like he's poised to take the party's reins.
