Rasmussen shows slight GOP lead in gov race

More poll numbers to chew on: Rasmussen has a new poll giving Rick Scott a 45-40 lead over Alex Sink. Bill McCollum is nearly tied with Sink, 40-38. Of note, the poll does not mention independent candidate Lawton "Bud" Chiles by name, only asking respondents if they favor "some other candidate." In last month's Rasmussen poll, McCollum held a 43-35 lead over Sink.

Also buried in the poll is an interesting nugget: 74 percent of respondents say the probe of the Republican Party of Florida's finances is at least somewhat important to how they will vote. But only about half of respondents said they are following news reports of the issue.

The poll surveyed 500 likely voters on June 7 via robo-poll. The poll's margin of error is 4.5 percentage points.
