Today's Wall Street Journal story by former Miami Herald political writer Peter Wallsten reveals that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Gov. Charlie Crist have been chit-chatting on the phone. As an independent, Crist could caucus with the Democratic majority if he is elected to the U.S. Senate.
Reid is also showing the love to Crist's Democratic rival, Kendrick Meek, by inviting him to speak to the Democratic caucus lunch today in Washington. Meek will fly back to Florida to address the Broward Democratic Party tonight.
