Jeb backs a DLP for Florida Senate

Former Gov. Jeb Bush, part of the cavalry doing all-out campaigning for GOP gubernatorial hopeful Bill McCollum, is also throwing his weight behind a candidate in a decidedly less high-profile race.

On Thursday, Bush endorsed former Miami-Dade County Commissioner Miguel Diaz de la Portilla to replace Alex Diaz de la Portilla in Florida Senate District 36. Miguel DLP is running against state Rep. Julio Robaina in the Aug. 24 GOP primary.

It's not the only legislative race Bush has gotten involved in. He's got an ad running on Spanish-language radio where he backs state Rep. Anitere Flores, who is also seeking to move up to the Senate.
