Miguel DLP bringing in the big guns

Thursday, it was former Gov. Jeb Bush backing former Miami-Dade County Commissioner Miguel Diaz de la Portilla for Florida Senate.

Friday -- in a clear sign that DLP is bringing in the Republican heavyweights in his race against state Rep. Julio Robaina -- the endorsement for DLP comes from GOP darling Marco Rubio.

The race between DLP and Robaina is far and away the most contested one on the primary ballot for Miami-Dade voters. It features two household names, Republicans taking sides and tons of campaign cash. DLP has outraised Robaina, a well-known retail politician who has said he cherishes the role of the underdog.
