Scott removes city official for Sunshine Law violation

Gov. Rick Scott, whose 'social dinners' with lawmakers have raised open meeting questions, quietly removed Wauchula Commissioner Daniel Graham on Friday for attending a closed-door meeting. Graham and four other commissioners were charged with violations of state Sunshine Laws after a citizen's complaint led to a State Attorney's Office investigation.

The five commissioners recently pleaded no contest to the charges. The Lakeland Ledger reported today that the other four commissioners - David Royal, Valentine Patarini, Clarence Bolin and Jerry Conerly - have resigned, leaving the Hardee County city with two sitting commissioners.
