Shane Strum, the chief of staff for former Gov. Charlie Crist who has stayed on to help with Gov. Rick Scott's transition, has been named vice chancellor of business development at Keiser University. Here's the school's release:
“Shane’s past accomplishments at a private university and his public policy experience are a perfect combination,” said Vice Chancellor Belinda Keiser. “At Keiser University, we have a long standing commitment to developing and identifying the talent necessary for Florida to compete globally. His skills and expertise will be an incredible addition to our innovative team and their dedication to serving students and producing workforce ready graduates. As Associate Vice Chancellor of Business Development, Strum will lead the effort to expand Keiser University’s private sector partnerships furthering the university’s vision that an inclusive approach to higher education, guided by the needs of workforce and economic development, is best for students and Florida’s businesses. Shane Strum was the Chief of Staff to Governor Charlie Crist. Prior to working in the Governor’s office Strum directed new business development for seven years at Blue Frog Solutions, Inc., a Pompano Beach-based finance and insurance technology firm. From 1995 to 2000, Strum served as the Director of Corporate and Government Affairs for Nova Southeastern University’s Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Alabama and a master’s degree in business administration from Nova Southeastern University.
