AIF creates search committee to find replacement for Barney Bishop

With Associated Industries of Florida halfway through its annual conference in Palm Beach, the organization on Thursday announced the creation of a search committee to find a replacement for current President and CEO, Barney Bishop.

Here's the statement from board chair Erika Alba:  "As was recently announced, Barney Bishop will be moving on from AIF at the end of the year, and we are beginning preparations now to find a successor and ensure a smooth transition for the association’s next leader.

To that end, the AIF Board of Directors has named Cecil Pearce as the AIF Interim Managing Director to aid in the administration of the organization and Trey Traviesa to oversee the activities of the search committee as they seek qualified candidates for the role of president and CEO. We take great pride in serving as the 'Voice of Florida Business,' and will continue to aggressively advocate for the principles of the free enterprise system as we move forward."

Traviesa is a former Republican state representative from Tampa.
