CAIN TO SPEAK AT IFA: GOP Presidential candidate Herman Cain, who continues to fend off sexual harassment allegations, is slated to speak at the International Franchise Association's conference later this month. IFA spokesman Matt Haller confirmed that Cain is speaking on 'executive leadership,' the focus of the Miami conference scheduled for Nov. 16-18. Cain was invited six months ago by IFA's executive leadership conference committee, according to Haller.
Cain, who ran the National Restaurant Association in the mid-1990s, has close ties to IFA President Stephen Caldeira. They worked together at the NRA and then Caldeira worked for Cain as head of the National Restaurant Association Education Fund and later joined Cain at the technology company Retail DNA. Caldeira, who moved over to the education fund in March 1998, was not there at the time Sharon Bialek has accused Cain of making an unwanted advance toward her.
