If Florida's top Republicans were deciding the U.S. Senate primary, the race would be over in June, well before the Aug. 14 primary, now that Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi has joined former Gov. Jeb Bush and Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam in endorsing Rep. Connie Mack.
There's a little error at the bottom of the press release. It says Sen. Marco Rubio has endorsed Mack. The Mack camp says it should've said Rubio endorsed the Congressman's budget-cutting "Penny Plan."
The press release:
MIAMI – The Mack for Senate campaign today announced the endorsement of Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, the lead attorney general in the 26 state lawsuit seeking to overturn ObamaCare by challenging its constitutionality. A ruling on the case is expected from the U.S. Supreme Court this month.
"It is crucial that we elect strong and fiscally conservative leaders to the United States Senate, who will stand up to overreaching federal government power and out of control federal spending in Washington, D.C. During my service as Florida’s Attorney General, and through our united efforts to fight the prescription drug epidemic in our state and nation, I have developed an incredible respect and personal friendship with both Connie and Mary Bono Mack, and I am pleased to offer Connie my endorsement and support of his campaign for U.S. Senate,” said Attorney General Pam Bondi.
In thanking General Bondi for her support, Congressman Connie Mack said, “When Florida elected Pam Bondi they said ‘enough’ to ObamaCare. Her tireless work to undo the damage done to our country and our economy by Bill Nelson and Barack Obama makes all of us proud. General Bondi’s support of our campaign to change the U.S Senate underscores the energy that is building in our effort, and I am deeply grateful."
As a U.S. Senator, Bill Nelson cast a deciding vote in favor of ObamaCare, the biggest attempt at a federal government overreach in our history. Along with voting in favor of ObamaCare, Bill Nelson neglected his job on the Senate Budget Committee and proved to be a successful advocate for big-government, more taxes and more spending. As a fiscal conservative, Connie Mack has released a responsible plan to balance our budget in five years, The Mack Penny Plan.
Attorney General Bondi's endorsement shows the incredible support for Connie from conservatives across the nation. Respected leaders and conservatives former Gov. Jeb Bush, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio and U.S. Senator Rand Paul have also endorsed Connie for U.S. Senate.
