Latin pop star Marc Anthony to open Obama office in Miami's Little Havana

From a press release:

MIAMI – Thursday, Aug. 2, multi-platinum Latin music artist Marc Anthony will join OFA-Florida to celebrate the grand opening of a new Little Havana office with local supporters and volunteers. The office will serve as a home base where volunteers for President Obama and other Democrats will connect with voters about the President’s accomplishments for Floridians and his promises kept since taking office.

President Obama believes America is strongest when everybody has a seat at the table. Putting Americans back to work is job one. But we have to do more. The President has expanded opportunity for every American by taking steps to level the playing field so everybody plays by the same rules, and he’s rebuilding our economy based on the fundamental values that made America great – values like fairness, opportunity, hard work and responsibility.

Marc Anthony, one of the most influential artists of his time, is visiting as part of Obama for America’s Hispanics for Obama network outreach. Over the last three and a half years, we have made important progress on issues affecting the Hispanic community, and Hispanic voters will be a deciding factor in this election. As part of the Hispanics for Obama program, OFA-Florida engages Hispanic Americans through voter outreach, volunteering and voting.
