Donald Trump responds to Miami congressman's phantom-candidate theory

Miami Rep. Carlos Curbelo's theory that Donald Trump might be a Democratic plant in the 2016 Republican presidential candidate went national -- and now Trump himself has been asked about it.

In a phone interview Wednesday on Fox and Friends, Trump was read Curbelo's comment that the real-estate mogul's ties to Bill and Hillary Clinton are "suspicious."

"Yeah, she's my worst nightm-," Trump began, before rephrasing. "From Hillary's standpoint the one person she doesn't want running against her is Donald Trump."

He added that he contributed to Clinton's past Senate campaigns because, "I'm a businessman. I contribute to everybody."

And he said the Clintons attended his last wedding precisely because he was a donor.

"When I need Hillary, she was there. If I say go to my wedding, they go to my wedding," Trump said. "That's part of the problem with our system because they're going to do for me and all their donors things that aren't necessarily good for the country but they're good for their donors."
