Lopez-Cantera announces endorsements of nine Central Florida lawmakers

Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera on Wednesday rolled out his first round of endorsements in the Republican Senate primary.

On the list are nine state representatives from Central Florida, including five he served alongside in the House between 2004 and 2012. His campaign says more names are coming soon.

The Orlando-area endorsements are: Reps. Jason Brodeur, R-Sanford; Bob Cortes, R-Altamonte Springs; Tom Goodson, R-Titusville; Mike LaRosa, R-Saint Cloud; Marlene O’Toole, R-Lady Lake; Scott Plakon, R-Longwood; Rene Plasencia, R-Orlando; David Santiago, R-Deltona; and Ritch Workman, R-Melbourne.

Lopez-Cantera is one of four Republicans hoping to replace Marco Rubio in the U.S. Senate. He is running against U.S. Reps. David Jolly, R-Indian Shores, and Ron DeSantis, R-Ponte Vedra Beach, and Orlando businessman Todd Wilcox.
