Hillary Clinton talked policy -- not Marco Rubio or Jeb Bush -- at Miami fundraiser

Hillary Clinton talked about familiar public policy topics rather than bash individual GOP candidates such as Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush at a fundraiser in Pinecrest Tuesday.

At least 500 attended the event at the home of fundraiser Chris Korge, said his son Andrew Korge.

Clinton talked about the importance of acting on climate change, universal background checks for guns, early childhood education, immigration, providing equal opportunities for people of all races and the need to have a reasonable debate about foreign policy.

"People were fired up," said Andrew Korge, who plans to run for the Florida Senate in 2016. "There was a whole lot of hooting and hollering."

The fundraiser raised an estimated $500,000 and drew Democratic donors from Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe counties.

Clinton also held a separate fundraiser in Miami Beach. She held no public events while in South Florida.
