Sarah Palin cancelled Trump event in The Villages due to her husband's snowmobiling accident

Sarah Palin cancelled her appearance on behalf of Donald Trump at The Villages today due to her husband's snowmobiling accident.

The Trump campaign initially put out a vague statement seven minutes before the noon event was set to start saying it was cancelled. About 45 minutes later, the campaign sent out a press release with an explanation:

"Todd Palin was in a bad snow machine accident last night and is currently hospitalized. Governor Palin is returning to Alaska to be with her husband and looks forward to being back on the campaign trail soon. Mr. Trump's thoughts and prayers are with the Palin family at this time."

NBC News reported based on an anonymous source that Todd Palin was in a "very serious" snowmobile crash and is in intensive care.

Trump is in Tampa this afternoon and Youngstown, Ohio at 6 p.m.
