Clinton plans Sept. 30 fundraiser in Miami Beach

Campaign 2016 Clinton (3)

Hillary Clinton intends to visit Miami Beach for a dinner fundraiser on Sept. 30.

She's scheduled to attend the event at the home of Marcelo and Jordan Claure. Marcelo Claure is the chief executive of Sprint, which is based in Kansas, but he still maintains a Beach residence. The Bolivian-born Claure is perhaps best known as David Beckham's partner in trying to bring a Major League Soccer franchise to Miami.

According to an invitation obtained by the Miami Herald, donors are asked to contribute a minimum of $10,000 to attend the dinner, with a $33,400 donation getting them into a reception with Clinton and a $100,000 donation getting them "premium" seating near Clinton.

An email to supporters enclosing the invitation appears to allude to the tightening race against Donald Trump.

"The past week has shown that we need to double down," the email says. "Please join Hillary if you can."
