Get ready to take the plunge in upcoming GeekTank

The MIT Enterprise Forum of South Florida  and the Miami Innovation Fund are teaming up on an event that will combine a “GeekTank” contest and a “Reverse Investor Pitch” panel.

The event will be 6 pm to 9 pm June 19 at Citrix, 851 West Cypress Creek Road, Fort Lauderdale. The event is $15 general admission but free to tech startups and students.

To warm things up, audience members will get the chance to grill a panel of investors and ask them the tough questions as part of the “Reverse Investor Pitch.” This will be an invaluable opportunity to peek inside the minds of some of South Florida’s most active angel investors, said Franc Nemanic of Crunchfire Technologies, who is a boards of both the Miami Innovation Fund and the MIT Enterprise Forum and will be moderating the event.

Then four selected startups will each have 15 minutes to pitch and field questions from  a panel of judges. All contestants win valuable feedback and the experience of pitching. One will walk away with a term sheet offer for $50,000.  Want to be considered? The deadline to apply is Jan. 17.
